On February 15th, Eric received a phone call offering him a job at Kent State in Ohio. We were excited to have an offer, but still had a few other opportunities to pursue. Over the next few weeks, Eric was in negotiations with Kent to set up a potential start-up package. On Friday, he received the official offer letter from Kent and signed it and sent it back. We are very happy to say we will be moving to Ohio!!
The kids are pretty excited about it, Ohio was Oliver's first choice (of the places we were looking at- Iowa and New York were tied for first with him otherwise). We celebrated Friday night with a cake and on Saturday we ordered pizza and breadsticks. We got the kids all decked out in their new Kent State attire and took a few pictures. Oliver put his shirt back on this morning and said his Kent State shirt is awesome!
The start date for the job is July 22nd so we are hoping to move the beginning of July. We are hoping to sell our house prior to that. We will be going to Kent sometime in April to look for a place to live and for Eric to pick out a lab space on campus. I am excited to go and check everything out. I've been doing a lot of looking online at various things.
So that is our big news- Ohio bound we are! Go Golden Flashes!
