2 Weeks-

My niece Jill and her husband Steve at their wedding.

Danielle (Oliver's cousin) and Oliver- I don't know if we ever got them to both look in the same direction at the same time. I couldn't imagine having twins and trying to do it all the time.

Oliver got his first haircut from his Aunt Donna (at the Gilbertville legion during Jill's wedding reception)

At Karen's house for the McGarvey Birthday Bash, my mom, and sisters: Karen, Donna, and Coco.

Aunt Beth, Aunt Paula, Aunt Mary Alice, my mom, and Aunt Shirley (with my Grandma's senior picture on their shirts)

Jackie and Brian were in town so a few of us got together at Buckets in Jesup.

Father's Day (a week early)

We celebrated Father's Day on Sunday b/c Eric will be leaving for Arlington for a conference early next Sunday. We had a relaxing day. We got up, went to church, then came home and made a big breakfast. After breakfast, all 3 of us took a long nap. Then Oliver gave Eric a coffee mug with pictures of him and Eric in it. Later in the day, we went to the park and took a paddle boat ride. It was relaxing out on the water, but it was pretty warm.
After cooling off at home, we made dinner. Shish kabobs for myself and Eric and sweet potatoes and rice cereal for Oliver.

Oliver ate the sweet potatoes much more willingly than he typically takes the rice cereal- I guess he must appreciate the flavor. Three more days of sweet potatoes and then we are trying avocados. We'll see what he thinks of those. Have a great day!!

6 Month Appointment- Plus some updates

Enjoying the sippy cup (mostly just chewing)

Possibly the tallest dandelion ever, it was taller than Oliver. He was pretty intrigued by it and a little disgusted when he actually squeezed it.

Enough waiting- give me some food!

Not so sure what I think of this stuff

It is all over my face and you're still giving me more? What is up with that?

Looking at the horse at cousin Maggie's graduation party- he found them hilarious

Playing peek-a-boo with the curtain and his great-great-grandma

I made it to six months, but I don't want you to see the paper, I think I'll wrinkle it up.

Before he got a chance to wrinkle the paper (sorry they are out of order)

Oliver's 6 month appointment was on Monday. He weighed in at 17 pounds, 5 ounces and was 26.5 inches long. The doctor said everything looked good. He got shots, but calmed down quickly after them. He became the most upset when we were grocery shopping and he ripped 2 of his 3 band-aids off and Eric took them away from him.

We started him with rice cereal Monday night too. He did okay with it for a little while, but isn't a huge fan of it yet. I'm guessing once we start adding a bit more flavor in, he'll like it more. We also tried out a sippy cup with water and he likes that, although I'm not sure how much he actually gets out of it.

Since my last post, we've been back to Iowa for an extended weekend, had a garage sale, and been enjoying some summer weather. Oliver is rolling around like crazy and is beginning to do a bit of scooting. We are still working on sitting, he can't get into a sitting position on his own, but if we put him in one, he is able to sit for quite awhile (unless he gets distracted by a toy and does a face-plant or gets too excited and flips backwards). He has also mastered the screech and practices it quite often.

We are looking forward to 2 weekends in Iowa coming up followed by a few visitors to our house and then our big family vacation to New York.

Enjoy the pictures!
