Where have the past 2 months gone?

Here are the pictures we took of Oliver on 11/28/08(ignore me in this one), 12/28/08 and 1/28/09. I'm amazed at how much he has grown and how fast the time has gone already.
Oliver is doing really well, he has been sleeping fairly consistently from about 8 pm to 5 am for the past 2 weeks so that has been wonderful. Once in awhile, he'll wake up to eat around 10, but then go right back to sleep.
He has been really aware especially this week and held a toy for the first time too :) Eric is back in school and getting used to being on a little more of a schedule and I've started watching a few kids at our house. Things are going really well for us and we are enjoying watching Oliver grow more and more every day.
Hopefully my next post will not be 2 weeks from now, I promise to try to do my best to keep this updated a little more often. Until next time :)

A few newer pictures

Oliver sitting up in a Bumbo seat, he likes this for about 10 minutes usually and then he gets tired of it.
I took this picture yesterday and I thought it was adorable, sorry it is sideways, I'm not quite sure how to fix that on here.

After he was all clean we sat him up to get a picture, this was just a few days ago. He really likes his baths now. He can be crying and as soon as we put him in the water, he calms down. He has also started doing some splashing. He likes it when we sprinkle water on him too. Apparently he didn't get my fear of water which is a good thing, he can start swim lessons at 6 months, they call them shrimps, at 18 months he would move up to being a jumbo shrimp :)
First bath in his whale bathtub back home in Illinois. He seemed to like being able to sit up a little more, but just hung out and let us do our work.
Backwards bath pictures: On the yellow sponge is his first real bath when we got back to Iowa at Grandma & Grandpa Steffen's. He seemed okay with it, didn't especially like it or dislike it.

So I decided since I've been horrible about updating this b/c I kept thinking I wanted to be all caught up with all of the pictures before I posted new stuff, I decided to just post a few to get us up-to-date and will hopefully be able to stay on top of it now. :)

Oliver's Baptism

Oliver being baptized

Oliver dressed up for his baptism. Eric was not a fan of the gowns for his little boy, so we went with a non-traditional outfit. He did have a onesie underneath the jacket that had a cross on it. The blanket he is on is one that my grandma had given to me for my baptism.

We were lucky enough to have many visitors come from New York and Iowa for Oliver's baptism. He had 33 family members make the trip- it was a great time. Thanks again everyone!

And a few more from that first week

A not so happy Oliver, I think he was tired of us taking his picture.

We borrowed a swing from some friends and Oliver seems to really like it. He enjoys taking naps in there :)

Our First Week at Home

As you can see, sleep was important that first week. He also got to "open" his first Christmas present- an ornament.
