10 Month Pictures

10 Month Pictures:

Oliver hit the big 1-0 yesterday. I took him to get him weighed this morning and he weighed in at 20 lbs, 6 oz. I haven't got a chance to measure him yet, I think it will go much smoother if I wait until Eric gets home.
Here are some of the things he does:
-takes a few unassisted steps
-crawls very quickly
-likes to crawl upstairs
-stands up using pretty much anything
-starting to try out standing completely unassisted
-says mama a lot
-says dada once in awhile
-still likes to eat- starting to eat a few more solid foods
-sleeps from approximately 7:30pm to 7:00am
-loves to be outside
-plays with toys a lot
-likes to look at books

I could go on for awhile, but I just said "a few of the things he does" :)

He likes to fly with daddy

I put a blanket into a laundry basket and then put Oliver in and put the blanket around him. Then pushed him around the living room and dining room. He loved it! I think he would have been happy to do that for hours.

After a long morning of playing and going to the library, he just couldn't make it through lunch.

One afternoon, Oliver and I went on campus to pick Eric up and we decided to go visit the quad and let Oliver play in the grass. He seemed to enjoy himself. We also went for a walk after playing.

Best toy ever- paper towel roll :)

Walking (with a little help)

Oliver has been practicing his walking skills everyday. Here he is walking with the help of a push toy.

Updates

Eric sat Oliver up on my computer chair and he was pretty proud of himself for sitting up there. He has also been doing "squinty-eyes" a lot lately- the next picture shows a little bit of that. I haven't been able to get a picture that shows his "true squinty eyes," but they are pretty adorable.

Oliver ate some goldfish crackers for the first time and he loved them. When my daycare child has snack, Oliver now thinks he needs to be eating something too.

We got this costume before Oliver was even born and unfortunately I think he is going to outgrow it before Halloween so we put it on him the other day.

The following three pictures are from last Saturday at Eric's parents' house. Kaleb and his wife and new baby were back for the weekend so we were over there to meet Kristina and Sophie-Mae. Eric's great-grandma was also there.

Oliver has transitioned to all 12 month clothes now. Here are a few pictures of some of his fancy new clothes. It is weird that he is now wearing some 2-piece pajamas.

Here he is in his little lumberjack outfit. The shirt has a moose on it :)

First Steps

Oliver took his first steps last Saturday (September 5) while we were back in Iowa for Labor Day weekend. We were hanging out in the morning with my parents, Kara and the kids, and Renee and tried to let him walk and he actually took some steps. Here a few of his first steps (and many tumbles ahead). He has gotten quite a bit better in the past week and takes about 10 steps before falling. He is also starting to correct himself when he begins to tip. We'll keep practicing and I"m sure he'll be running before we know it.

We took Oliver in for his 9 month well-baby check. He weighs 19 lbs, 5.5 oz (25th percentile) and is 27.75 inches (24th percentile) tall. He did really well at his appointment, the doctor said everything looks good. He had to get blood drawn to check lead and iron levels. He did perfect - he sat still and watched and didn't make a sound.

He has been waving like crazy. He is still not quite 100% on waving when we ask him to, but he is getting there.

We got him this learning table on Saturday and he LOVES it. He plays with it lots throughout the day. I think he likes it because he is able to stand and have fun stuff to do. He likes to walk around the table and cover all of his options.
