MOPS program

Last Thursday was the last day of our MOPS group for the year. The kids did a program at the end of our time that day. Here is a link to a video of a few of the songs that Oliver did.

Enjoy!

Easter Weekend!

We had a busy Easter weekend. Saturday morning, we got up and went to an Easter egg hunt in Champaign. The Easter Bunny was there, Oliver was a little unsure of the giant bunny, but he went over and told him hi and gave him five. There were A LOT of kids at the Easter egg hunt. They had it split into age groups so that made it much better for us.

Parker hanging out in his car seat waiting for Oliver to go hunt Easter eggs.

We went for a walk while we were waiting to hunt eggs and Oliver took a seat in the grass.

This is just some of the kids waiting to hunt Easter eggs. You can't see the other sidewalk, but just a little ways over to the right of the picture was another sidewalk. The people between that sidewalk and the sidewalk pictured are just the kids in the 0-2 range.

Saturday afternoon, Amy & Cody got to our house. We spent some time playing outside and even went for a walk to a nearby park. After supper, we dyed Easter eggs. Oliver did really well and was pretty patient- it helped to have a 4-1 adult-to-child ratio. :) Cody hadn't ever dyed Easter eggs before so Oliver helped to show him how to do it.

After church, we stopped at a park on the way home and took the boys' pictures in front of some tulips.

When we got home from church, the Easter Bunny had came and made two little boys pretty happy.

Oliver hunted for Easter eggs around our living room.

Parker got a new toy to play with.

Parker was pretty interested in the book the Easter Bunny brought him.

Oliver was very excited about his peeps. He only managed to eat one of them this morning, but I'm not sure how many marshmallows he ate :)

Parker got a bib that said My first Easter and was very cooperative getting his picture taken.

I tried to get a picture of Oliver and he spread out on the couch.

The boys in their Easter outfits- notice their socks! :)

Thursday

Today Oliver was playing with Parker. He is starting to show a lot more interest in Parker since Parker has started responding to Oliver. Today was another nice day and we spent some time playing in our backyard.

Tonight Parker and Oliver took their first bath together. They both did really well. Oliver was very excited when Parker got out so he could use the yellow sponge as a boat. We are all excited for tomorrow night when Eric comes home. He gets in tomorrow night at 9:45. I was telling Oliver about going to pick Eric up and he said "Make Oliver so happy!"

Parker is 3 months old!

Parker turned 3 months old yesterday. I took him in on Friday to get him weighed and he was 12 pounds, 14 ounces- exactly what Oliver was at three months.
Here is a rundown of what Parker is up to lately:
-Talking like crazy
-Giving lots of smiles
-He seems to be trying to suck his hand/fingers/thumb fairly often
-Is still a very happy boy
-Traveled very well on his first trip to Iowa (he slept as long as the car was moving)
-Typically gets up every three hours at night, but sometimes sleeps up to 6 hours at a time
-Tries to roll over when he is on his tummy
-Gets excited when he sees Oliver
-Starting to play with toys

It is fun seeing Parker and Oliver interact- Oliver is getting more excited to play with Parker now that Parker responds to him. Yesterday, we got home and Parker was still in his carseat and he was talking and Oliver went over to carseat and started say "Hi Parker- Hi Park-Park." It is hard to believe Parker is already 3 months old- that means only 9 months until Christmas :)

Old Pictures

Oliver helped Eric hang up a few new pictures one night last week. He had a lot of fun "using" the tools. He made us laugh, as he was trying to hang up the pictures, he kept yelling "push, push."

The weather has been showing signs of warming and we were anxious to get outside. Here are a few pictures of one of our days in our backyard last week.

(that yellow blob is Parker :) )

When I told Oliver that it was getting to cold for Parker and that we needed to go in, Oliver told me "Mommy go inside, Oliver stay outside." He didn't win though, we went in :)

Who's Who?

Oliver is on the left and Parker is on the right.

So I have been asked multiple times if Parker looks like Oliver and I never had really compared the two very much. So I found a picture of Oliver where he was between 2 and 3 months and I dressed Parker in the same clothes and put him in the same chair and took his picture. So here it is... I don't think the two look very much alike at all when the pictures are side by side. Oliver's eyes were blue for quite awhile and Parker's are darker already. Oliver had a lot lighter skin apparently too- plus he smiled for the camera more than Parker does. Everyone will have to let me know if they think they look alike or not.

Parker's two month appointment went well on Monday. The doctor said he is healthy and doing great. He weighed 11 lbs, 14 oz and was 22 1/4 inches long. He got a bunch of shots which he was not a fan of. It definitely took some time to get Parker calmed down.

Oliver is staying busy. We had a playdate at our house this morning- he must have used a lot of energy because he went right down for nap and slept for over 3 hours.

Eric is staying busy with school stuff, he is working on his proposal for his dissertation. He is also working on some things for an upcoming conference in April.

I started subbing at my old job, Head Start. I worked one morning and one afternoon this week. It is nice because if I am busy, I can just say no. Eric is able to stay home with the boys when I am working so it has been nice for all of them too. It was nice to get out of the house this past week.

We all went for a walk one afternoon this week also. The warmer weather has us all anxious for spring to get here quick. Oliver has been able to play at the park 3 times already and is always ready for more. We were in the backyard a few days ago and I said it was getting to cold for Parker and that we needed to go in and Oliver told me "Oliver-backyard, Mommy go inside." He didn't win that battle though. :)

Eric's parents are coming for a visit tomorrow so as usual, we are excited to have visitors. We had a 60 degree day today, although there wasn't any sun, we had a brief thunderstorm tonight and it is supposed to be back in the 30s tomorrow. Hopefully the warm weather will come and stay soon- Have a great weekend everyone!
