Tuesday!

I wanted to get a few "good" pictures of Oliver today so I threw a sheet up as a background and tried to get some. Some turned out pretty good, but I learned that having Eric home when I want to do that would probably be helpful. :)

Grandma & Grandpa Shook brought a doctor kit out for Oliver when they visited last weekend. Oliver has a lot of fun with it. He especially likes the stethoscope and the blood pressure cuff.

We went out for a walk around the park this afternoon. While we were out there, I let Oliver and the little boy I watch run around for a bit. Oliver wouldn't leave the side of the stroller, he just played with the wheels or pushed it around. When we got back to our house, we played in the backyard. It was a beautiful day! 61 degrees! We are expecting a few more days of that this week.

Monday

Oliver and I spent the day at home. He seems to be feeling better today. He slept a lot last night- 7:30pm to 9:00am! We played upstairs for awhile. He had fun playing with blocks. Eric had a busy day at work and a seminar after working so he got home a little later than usual. I guess we were boring people today- maybe tomorrow will be more exciting and I will get the camera out :)

Sunday

Oliver helped Eric test if the electricity was on before Eric started working on our lightswitch. We can now have our porch light and our living room light on at the same time! Very exciting news here :)

Oliver woke up not feeling well today. We had a quiet day at home. He played in his car quite a bit. We are going to spend another quiet day at home tomorrow so that he gets back up to 100%.

New Dryer Vent!

Lisa used a metal detector to search our backyard for treasures (in the rain). She found 2 nails and one pop-tab.

72 years of the walls of our house. We (meaning Eric and Bill) cut the hole for the dryer vent- we had to go buy a bigger drill bit because the normal one wouldn't go far enough.
I went outside and looked in the hole they had cut and Eric and Oliver peeked outside. Oliver thought it was pretty funny to be able to see me through the hole.

We had a relaxing day and are so glad that our dryer finally vents outside now! No more lint in the basement. :)

Upstairs

Here are pictures of our upstairs put back together. We still need to do a second coat on the wall in the following picture.





We need to do a second coat on the two short walls in this picture (the one on the left is a continuation of the wall from the first picture). Then we need to paint 2 coats on the angled window wall. We also bought new trim that we need to paint and then put up around the window and the air conditioner.


We plan to do a few more things up there before we are finished with it. We want to replace all of the outlets & switches and covers with white ones. They are all kindof a dingy cream right now with a lot of old paint all over them. We also will finish putting up the baseboard, there are a few spots that don't have it up or that it is just sitting there. We plan to paint all of the trim around the doors (3) and the doors themselves. I'm sure we'll think of a few more things to do here and there, but we are all 3 very happy with the results so far.

Oliver loved playing up there tonight while we were putting all the furniture back in its place after painting. He had all of his toys out and had a blast.

I figured I better add a picture of Oliver so here is one of him coloring today. He was able to get out of the chair by himself today without falling :)

Aunt Cookie

Oliver received a package in the mail today. It was from Aunt Cookie... (she resides in Dewar). He was the lucky recipient of a whole bunch of sugar cookies. They came with specific instructions that Oliver could have one whenever he wanted and that I had to post proof that we really gave him a cookie. :) Thanks Aunt Cookie (PS someone's birthday is in April and I think they may receive a package from Aunt Cake and Uncle Chocolate)

We had another warm day- in the 60s. It rained in the morning and the evening, but the day time was perfect. We went outside for a walk. We also painted more tonight- I was all excited to get the second coat on the remaining walls when I realized we were going to need more paint.... So I asked Eric to go to Menards and get another gallon. About 10 minutes later, my phone rings: "So do you want to hear something funny?" Yep- Menards was out of the paint we were using and aren't expecting a shipment until the 21st. So we'll be putting the upstairs back together without it being fully painted. We have 2 walls left to do the second coat and one wall left to do 2 coats. I will post some pictures of the semi-finished product tomorrow after we do a little clean up and rearranging.

Eric's parents are coming to visit for the weekend and we are excited about that.
